What is Packing Plywood?

Packing plywood is one kind of industrial plywood, which is made from natural wood and has good hardness and bearing strength. Packing plywood is widely used in life today. As its name implies, packing plywood is mainly used for packaging. From finished plywood panels, they can make pallets, boxes for goods, machinery, and electronic components. In addition, packing plywood is used in construction, such as for partitions, temporary houses, factories, etc.

Plywood or packing plywood in particular is considered a creation of the technical wood industry because of its physical properties and multiple application. Although made of a combination of thin natural wood, it still has good hardness and bearing strength. It’s not prone to shrinkage, termite, or being chapped by different weather conditions. Furthermore, using plywood is more economical than using natural wood. If natural wood requires the use of perennial wood with a diameter large enough to form a product, plywood is different. The technology of plywood production allows to use all kinds of wood which are considered small wood, and cannot be made into large panels. Therefore, plywood is always cheaper than natural wood.

The advantage of packing plywood is that it has the same size as natural wood but is much lighter and still has high durability; the surface is completely smooth as well. Moreover, plywood has a variety of colors and surface materials.

In terms of specifications, packing plywood is usually produced in the most common dimensions: 1220mm x 2440mm (plywood 4’x8′) and a flexible thickness of 2mm to over 30mm depending on the purpose of the users. They usually use MR to glue the layers. The core is mainly made of wood such as acacia, eucalyptus, mix, etc.

Packing plywood is divided into 3 different quality levels: AA, AB, and BC. Depending on the purpose, consumers will choose suitable packing plywood as needed and save money as well.
